This Licenced William Morris Willow Bough Blue Design was first designed in 1887. It was first produced as a wallpaper design which William's daughter, May Morris used to decorate her bedroom before being adapted for fabric in 1895 when it was block printed in Merton Abbey.
May wrote about the design, "We were walking one day by our little stream that runs into the Thames and my father pointed out the detail and soon after the paper was done."
We licence the design and print it to our own size specification, one which we believe looks the best for our product range.
Printed in the UK onto 100% cotton cloth, the blue design is on a white background.
We also print the Willow Bough design in green and cream.
