We hope you’ve all had a very Merry Christmas, we had some wonderful times with friends and family and whilst relaxing with a box of Celebrations on Christmas night, we spotted something very very exciting… our fabric on the Christmas Special of Alan Carr Chatty Man!
To make his guests Giles and Mary from Gogglebox feel more ‘at home’ he draped some of our lovely licensed William Morris Willow Bough over the back of his famous gold sofa. With a little shriek at the TV when we could see our branding down the side of the fabric’s salve edge.
We think Alan modelled this beautifully don’t you!
Willow Bough was first designed by Morris in 1887, intended for wallpaper it was the print May Morris chose to decorate her bedroom. The fabric was later adapted for fabric in 1895 when it was block printed in Merton Abbey. Still loved today, it’s a timeless design which we license and print to our size specification – one we believe looks best for our product range.
May wrote about the design, “We were walking one day by our little stream that runs into the Thames and my father pointed out the detail and soon after the paper was done.”
How exciting to see our fabric on the telly! The whole range is available online here – we have tote bags, tea towels, tablecloths and many other beautiful household textiles in both green and blue.
