William Morris lived in Kelmscott House, his London home, from when he took out the lease in April 1878. At the same time, Morris also kept his home at Kelmscott Manor in rural Gloustershire. I have been informed he twice sailed by boat along the River Thames between the two properties.
I took the pictures, below, while standing on the narrow road in front of Kelmscott House. I was surprised just how close the river was to Kelmscott House. The journey must have been quite an adventure!
