Kelmscott Manor is the former Cotswolds retreat of William Morris, the beautiful quilt, designed by Morris’ daughter May, and embroidered by his wife, Jane circa 1900 resides in Jane Morris’ bedroom.
The cot quilt was acquired by May Morris’ friend May Elliot Hobbs and has remained in the Hobbs family ever since. The two were lifelong friends and big characters in Kelmscott village life.
The quilt is on temporary loan to Kelmscott Manor, who have launched an appeal to raise the £40,000 needed to purchase it and keep it on display in the UK. We believe the quilt should be kept where it belongs, in the village they all lived and loved, and keep our pieces of British heritage on home soil.

Our William Morris florals Daisy and Willow Bough Green expertly modelled by Bertie during his weekend away to the beautiful @castle_howard - he enjoyed wearing a floral cravatte and bow tie pretending to be a Bridgerton (the bow tie did indeed end up being a bow on the top of his head after one too many sniffs 😂🎀)
