If You Happen to Be In Washington D.C.
The first major survey exhibition in the United States of the Pre-Raphaelites is on at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC. The exhibition began in February and closes on May 19th 2013.
The exhibition is entitled Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Art and Design 1848–1900. It features 130 paintings , sculptures, works on paper and decorative objects. William Morris and the PRB have had a keen following in the US ever since the nineteenth century, and it is interesting to look at the way that the Arts and Crafts Movement developed in the US. I just wish I could attend!
