Ilkley
There are many people who have only ever heard of Ilkley in connection with the song “”On Ilkla Moor Baht ‘at“. (Which means: On Ilkley Moor Without a Hat). It is an old Yorkshire dialect song with a dourly humorous lyric about the low temperatures on the moor. Of course Ilkley is quite close to Bronte country and the moors can be bleak and cold with an atmosphere of “Wuthering Heights” but they are also stunningly beautiful and, on a sunny day, absolutely stupendous.
