On a recent visit to Northumbria I visited Holy Island, this beautiful Island which you enter on a causeway from the mainland has a magical feel to it.
I loved the Castle which Edward Hudson bought in 1901
Hudson asked his friend Edwin Lutyens to create a summer home for him
Edwin Lutyens was one of the great Arts & Crafts designers of the day, a follower of the Arts & Crafts movement that William Morris founded.
The whitewashed walls and lovely blue and white pottery make the castle just charming.
