William Morris studied the ancient cathedrals such as York and Lincoln and knew the methods that the medieval craftsmen had used. He particularly studied the larger workshops that created their stained glass during the medieval period. The organisation for Morris’s stained glass workshop followed the same organisation as the type used for the manufacture of stained glass for York Minster.
I would have liked to take more photographs for you, but the Minster was extremely busy when I visited this time, so this is just to give you a flavour of the interior. I will post some more pictures the next time I have the opportunity.
