It’s one of our favourite things to see customers using our fabric to make beautiful crafts – our William Morris fabric is super versatile. We always love to blog and post photos on our blog of you crafty lot’s projects, you’re all so talented!
This blog is full of some beautiful crafts, let us tell you more about them…
These Pimpernel Cream cushions Frances made are lovely on her cream couch. The colour palette goes perfectly doesn’t it. We think the pom poms round the edge are amazing and really finish the cushion off perfectly. The traditional and the quirky work together here so well!
We do have Pimpernel Cream and Pimpernel Green, it was first produced in 1876. You can see the small pimpernel flowers the design is named after in between the vines instead of the larger poppies which dominate the design. Pimpernel is featured in the Billiard Room on the wallpaper at Wightwick Manor.
Everyone loves wall prints and art these days, so we thought what better than putting actual works of art on the walls. Frame and mount pieces of Morris fabrics for an easy showcase of his work. We always think that Morris designs aren’t just for wallpaper and textiles as he designed them for, but they really are art in their own right.
We broke up the print by also using one of his quotes – you could make this as neutral or as bold as you fancy to go with the aesthetic of your house. There’s so many fab quotes to choose from by Morris;
Perhaps his most famous – “have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”
“The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.”
This sweet little dress was made by @smallgracesdesigns using our Brother Rabbit 100% cotton cloth in blue. The fabric is perfect for children’s clothes – it’s inspiration lies in the stories Morris read to his daughters, Jenny and May, called Uncle Remus Stories by J.C. Harris.
Helen made these lamps using our Brother Rabbit fabric. The photos show with the lamp on and off so you can see how the light looks like through the fabric. The design looks wonderful to add a pop of colour into the room – you could even change the fabric every season to match when you change up your cushion covers etc. to really change the look of the room!
If you create anything with our fabric, please remember to send us photos! Either tag us on social media or send us an email to [email protected] – we will send you a 20% discount code to say thank you – you might see your project on our blog and social channels!
