If there’s one plant we’ve always loved, it’s lavender. Fields of English Lavender inspired our Lavender design, one of our favourites and we especially love to bring it out in the Summertime to bring that fresh lavender into our home.
We recently got sent this lovely photo of our Lavender photo being used in a craft project. Creating a hand pleated cushion and a little scent bag – keep these in your wardrobe or draws to keep your clothes smelling of calming lavender or pop on your bedside table to scent the whole room!
We sell our fabric by the half metre so whether your project is big or small, you can get the perfect length. Of course, we also sell products in the Lavender range including tablecloths, aprons and aprons.
Known for it’s scent and beauty, Lavender is part of the mint family, with the origin believed to be from the Mediterranean, Middle East and India. It’s history goes back some 2500 years. The name Lavender holds origins in the Latin ‘lavare’ which means ‘to wash’ and is reportedly so because the Romans used Lavender to scent their baths, beds, clothes and hair as well as it’s medicinal properties.
Known for it’s relaxing properties, we love to use the scent as a pillow spray to get a better nights sleep, or part of bubble bath to relax but the oil is also a well known disinfectant, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.
We always use the tablecloth and napkins this time of year as we move into Summer to brighten up the home, bring in the fresh florals. We’re also planning to make some cushions just like these to pop on the outside sofa to keep everyone cosy during BBQs. What would you create with our Lavender fabric?
