Here at Laura’s Beau, we don’t need much of an excuse for eating a carton of Ben and Jerry’s- and when we came across an article claiming July is ‘National Ice Cream Month’ we couldn’t help but celebrate (and pretend we are in America where the month is celebrated!)
In 1984, President Ronald Regan announced July would be national ice cream month, because as quoted by the IDFA, “He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by a full 90 percent of the nation’s population.”
In 2010, the ice cream industry generated total revenues of $10 billion, with take-home ice cream sales generating revenues of $6.8 billion (67.7% of the markets overall value.) (source: MarketLine, an Informa business)
The month celebrates the fact 9% of all the milk produced by US dairy farmers is used to produce ice cream, contributing significantly to the economic well being of the nation’s dairy industry.
Whatever the occasion, from children’s birthday parties, to an after dinner treat, ice cream is always appropriate, so why not have some to celebrate! Our William Morris florals Daisy and Willow Bough Green expertly modelled by Bertie during his weekend away to the beautiful @castle_howard - he enjoyed wearing a floral cravatte and bow tie pretending to be a Bridgerton (the bow tie did indeed end up being a bow on the top of his head after one too many sniffs 😂🎀)

Did you know that in Japan where our projects are sold, our tea towels are used not only for being functional but for decoration - we love that they’re framed, or laid on the table as a centrepiece to be admired or hung as a draped item to bring some nature indoors 🌿 we thought we’d do the same by using the tea towel as a centrepiece for a simple cup of tea and very delicious piece of cake! 🍰
