“Spring is a time of plans and projects” – Leo Tolstoy

29th April 2018

Spring is officially upon us and we’re all very excited that the sun’s shining and Winter is over! Spring is always a time we love to mix up the colours in the home more and get rid of the darker colours of the Autumn/ Winter months in favour of lighter and brighter prints. Whilst we love dark, Autumnal prints during the end of the year, we love to mark the start of Spring and Summer months by swapping out easy textiles such as the curtains, lampshades, cushions and tablecloth.

Re-covering chairs isn’t something you need to do every season, but it’s so easy to do! As you can see below, these old chairs were up-cycled to make two completely different looking chairs. It’s amazing what can be achieved with just a simple change of the fabric and if you’ve got the base then you can really make a different piece. Our fabric is sold by the half meter, so no matter how big or small your project is, we have some William Morris fabric for you!

One of our lovely customers also tied in our William Morris licensed Brother Rabbit fabric with the colours in their living room. The matching lamp shades and cushions are a fantastic way to brighten a room and bring it all together to match. Brother Rabbit is a beautiful year round design, though we do love Brother Red during the Autumn months in particular.

A new set of kitchen and dining accessories can really change the way a room looks without a huge redecoration. Using a different design and new colours can really alter how the room feels and how light and bright it could be! We’re leaning towards Willow Bough Blue as our spring/ summer design. We like to swap out the tablecloth, placemats, apron hanging on the hook and the tea towel and oven gloves hanging over the oven.

Lavender is one of our favourite Laura’s Beau exclusive designs. Born from the inspiration of fields of beautiful English Lavender in our countryside, it’s a stunning textile design which is in equal parts simple yet beautiful.

Changing the textiles in your home is such an easy way to refresh your home for Spring, remember that if you do any Spring projects, to send a photo to: [email protected] to receive 20% off your next purchase!
