Yesterday I heard of an exhibition at Lotherton Hall, Leeds, Yorkshire called The Victorian Look Book.
I was lucky to catch it as is due to end this week. Lotherton Hall is an picturesque Edwardian house and country estate, once home to the Gascoigne family.
The exhibition was held in the upper rooms with their beautiful wooden shutters tightly closed to preserve the delicate Victorian textiles.
The first thing that caught my eye was display of fragments of original William Morris textiles. Of special interest to me was the Brer Rabbit design, printed in gorgeous deep indigo blues. It reminded me of my two special rabbit friends… William Morris and Edward Burne Jones(!)
