Wallington was gifted in 1941 to the National Trust by Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan a committed socialist who decided Wallington should be available for everyone to enjoy.
The west wing had been lived in by the last remaining family member, Patricia Jennings, pictured on the fireplace, Sir Charles’ daughter until 2 years ago.
I was interested to see how she lived with the original William Morris wallpapers, curtains and seat cushions.
My opinion was to leave them and dress them as she had used them for everyone to see how the house has been used throught the years.
