This Licensed William Morris Eyebright design was first produced in 1883. Eyebright was originally designed by Morris as a lining fabric, of course, it's far too beautiful to be hidden in a lining! The fabric was printed using a technique called the Indio dye-method which Morris perfected at Merton Abbey Mills; a former textile factory in Merton, London that Morris owned.
Keep your hands protected in style with this beautiful Eyebright design. From the oven (or microwave!) to the table, they're a kitchen must-have, with thick quilting for heat protection. With a loop to hang, you can hang them in the kitchen or over the stove for kitchen decoration so they're always handy to grab.
The fabric has been printed, quilted and manufactured into ovengloves in the United Kingdom, just like all our items.
These William Morris ovengloves are 98 cm (38 1/2") long by 19 cm (7 1/2") wide.
The ovengloves contain 10oz needlepoly wadding which has been sewn with a diamond quilting. The back of the hand are protected with a 2oz coravin covered backhand. The ovenglove edge is bound with a matching Willow Bough binding. The oven glove conforms to British Standard BS6526 1998.
