The digital print not only ensures every cm of the design is crisp and perfectly printed, but it allows the print to show absolutely every detail. All William Morris designs are so special and have so many details within them that he hand designed so we're so pleased to be able to print them now digitally to showcase every single design to their utmost quality. Still printed in the UK of course, providing you with the highest quality cotton.
Our Red Strawberry Thief is another of our licensed William Morris design that was first produced in 1883. It marked a triumph for Morris as it was produced as he perfected the indigo-discharge technique of printing at Merton Abbey. We also have Strawberry Thief blue within our collection.
The design was inspired by William Morris’s observation of the thrushes under the strawberry nets at his home, Kelmscott Manor.
Our 100% cotton cloth is digitally printed in the United Kingdom, it's perfect for a wide range of craft projects, including quilting projects. If you're looking for inspiration of what to make, be sure to check out our inspiration page!
The fabric is 152cm wide the fabric has a white salve edge. The Strawberry Thief design has a pattern repeat of 24cm. For the fabric length, it's sold by the half metre, so you can choose your length using the drop down above. If you order more than 0.5m in the same order, it will be sent as a continuous length.
We use high quality cotton fabric which is digitally printed in the United Kingdom. Our printer is a long-established British printer. If you would like a closer look at any of our fabrics, you can get in touch and we’ll be happy to send you a free sample if you’re within the UK. Every single one of our William Morris designs are licensed Morris designs. We print and manufacture all of our William Morris designs to our own specifications in terms of both size and colour to best suit our products. We can keep our fabric cheaper than competitors by printing within the UK and reducing transport costs, we are exclusively an online retailer and therefore we don’t need to pay for flashy showrooms!
