This Licensed William Morris Design was first produced in May 1882. It is also known sometimes as Brer Rabbit and was inspired and named after a character in Uncle Remus, His song and Sayings by J.C.Harris (1881) which William Morris would read to his daughters Jenny and May. First produced at Merton Abbey, it was originally printed using the Indigo Dye technique. Philip Webb drew the birds and rabbits within the design.

All our William Morris designs are licensed designs, printed both size and colour wise to our own specification to best suit our products.
