Daisy is our licensed William Morris design, featuring a repeating pattern of bunches of daisies. Daisy was the second wallpaper William Morris designed, but the first to be produced in 1864, so it remains a special design. It was visibly well loved by Morris himself, as embroideries of Daisy were used at the beautiful Red House, Morris’s home in Bexleyheath.
The pattern is a repeating pattern, featuring red and yellow flowers, with the suggestion of green grass as a background.
Our heavyweight fabric is suitable for many different projects, it's a heavier weave than the 100% cotton fabric, and suitable for projects such as curtains and light upholstery.
The 100% cotton heavyweight fabric is printed in the United Kingdom, just like all our cloth.
Daisy cotton fabric measures 118cm wide. For the fabric length, it's sold by the half metre, so you can choose your length using the drop down above. If you order more than 0.5m in the same order, it will be sent as a continuous length.
We use high quality cotton fabric which is printed in the United Kingdom. Our printer is a long-established British printer. If you would like a closer look at any of our fabrics, you can get in touch and we’ll be happy to send you a free sample if you’re within the UK. Every single one of our William Morris designs are licensed Morris designs. We print and manufacture all of our William Morris designs to our own specifications in terms of both size and colour to best suit our products. We can keep our fabric cheaper than competitors by printing within the UK and reducing transport costs, we are exclusively an online retailer and therefore we don’t need to pay for flashy showrooms! Celebrating International Women’s Day today 🤍 As a female founded and run business, it’s always important for us to look at the women throughout history that have been empowered and made a difference. Few have made such a difference than May Morris, not only an expert in embroidery and design, she ran the embroidery department at her father’s business, Morris & Co. She also founded the Women’s Guild of Arts as the Art Workers Guild did not admit women - like her father was a true pioneer at the time with her talent and activities to progress women’s rights - a remarkable woman indeed 🌿 We were lucky enough to see some stunning original May Morris embroideries at our friends @williammorrissocietyuk - she was a true talent 🧵🪡
