William Morris Fabric Crafts

22nd July 2018

We always love seeing what our customers are creating from our fabrics – since we sell fabric by the half metre, from big to small projects, you can create anything! Remember that if you send us a photo of your project to [email protected] we will send you a 20% discount code off your next order on our website!

Wild_Gray on Instagram made this adorable baby bonnet. She created it using our William Morris Sweet Briar fabric which was designed in 1912 with a soft cream background and climbing rose stems in green with soft brown and pink sweet briar roses making up the beautiful design. A soft design, it’s a perfect one for a baby bonnet, what a beautiful idea!

Angela created this tote bag using half a metre of our William Morris Red Brother Rabbit fabric. She crafted it as a lovely present for her granddaughter for her 17th birthday. Since her granddaughter was so thrilled with the bag and takes it shopping with her, Angela has been asked by her eldest granddaughter to make her one in our Golden Lily fabric for her upcoming birthday! She said our fabrics are, “excellent in quality and value.”

We were also tagged in a photo by nestholidayhideaway  – the Nest Holiday Cottages are in beautiful Shropshire and here you can see two views inside the cottages – the village of Picklescott according to the Instagram has one of the best pubs known to mankind – a 17th century inn and eatery called ‘The Bottle and Glass.’ Within Wren Cottage, you can see the corner cupboard which was bought from a local antique dealer, the cottage is filled with antique touches to help retain the character of the property. You can see in the above photos our William Morris Golden Lily fabric used for the curtains and cushions, touches of colour which sit beautifully in the home. Golden Lily is a stunning design with intertwining tulips, lilies and leaves, it’s one of our all time favourites! As with all our licensed William Morris fabrics, Golden Lily is printed both size and colour wise to best suit our fabric and products.

Fauna Home have also posted some beautiful photos of our fabric and tea towels in action in their kitchen. The Willow Bough blue fabric in the kitchen really adds a pop of colour into the kitchen and compliments their copper kitchen appliances wonderfully. Willow Bough was first designed in 1887, first produced as a wallpaper design – Morris’ daughter May used it to decorate her bedroom in Kelmscott Manor before it was adapted for fabric in 1895 when it was block printed in Merton Abbey. We also have this Willow Bough design in green and cream.

If you create anything from our fabric, be sure to let us know on social media; Instagram and Twitter or email us at [email protected] so we can send you 20% off your next order on our website. Happy crafting!
