The Brother Rabbit design was first produced at Merton Abbey by William Morris. Inspired by the book Morris read to his daughters, Jenny and May, it was named after a character in 'Uncle Remus, his song and savings' (1881) by J.C. Harris.
Designed by Morris, as with many designs, the birds and rabbits within the design were drawn by his lifelong friend and collegue Philip Webb.
Also known as Brer Rabbit, our Brother Rabbit licensed William Morris deisgn is also available in a blue colourway.
As with all our products, Brother Rabbit is printed and manufactured here in the United Kingdom.
