We hope you’ve seen our new licensed William Morris Daisy design by now, we wanted to introduce it to you in more detail. We’re so thrilled with the new collection, which includes kitchenware and tableware.
Daisy features a repeating pattern of bunches of daisies and, though it was the second wallpaper Morris designed, it was the first to be produced. It was first produced in 1864, so it remains a special design for fans of Morris designs. It must have also been well loved by Morris himself, as embroideries of Daisy were used at Morris’s home in Bexleyheath, Red House.
Red House is a stunning house, commissioned and lived in by Morris, it was completed in 1860, designed by Morris’ friend, architect Philip Webb. It was described by Edward Burne-Jones and “the beautifullest place on earth.” You can visit Red House, which we’d more than recommend, it’s as beautiful as Burne-Jones described! It also still has original features such as the stained glass by Burne-Jones, embroideries by Jane Burden and more. It’s stunning to see how the house was designed and to think of all the beautiful Morris designs that adorned the house.
As with all our designs, Daisy is printed in the United Kingdom. It’s important to us that we keep printing Morris’s fabric in the UK, as he intended. We also manufacture all our designs in the United Kingdom. All our William Morris designs are licensed William Morris designs that are printed both size and colour wise to our own specifications. If you’d like a sample, please send us an email to [email protected] and we’ll get one sent out to you! To keep up with all our latest news, be sure to be following our Instagram!
